WRITE IT ON THE WALL

Class Goal: To bring awareness of sexual assault on Notre Dame's campus to the administration and student body.
Project Details: My partner, Eileen Murphy, and I sought to create a safe space to foster a forum for women affected by sexual assault. We wanted to create a personal environment where they would feel comfortable sharing stories, advice, resources (you name it!). Often the victim of careless graffiti anyway, we chose the bathroom stall as our canvas and worked to transform the stalls in women's dormitories across campus.
While some posters were removed before we could see what had been written, the messages we did see were overwhelmingly personal, moving and inspiring. The Notre Dame student newspaper, The Observer, caught wind of the project and featured our message on the front page. Check out the results below:
